Prep Canva file for the printer

Preparing your Canva files to send to a printer

If your Canva design is destined for a local printing company, they are going to request that you provide the file to size, with crops and bleeds.

Unlike industry-standard pre-press programs like Adobe InDesign or Illustrator, Canva requires a little digging to find these settings, but they are there!

Check out this short YouTube video explaining how to add crops and bleeds in Canva from Pixel & Bracket. https://youtu.be/6kyQidkudU0?si=sdNe46XgHL6jqO-s

The New York Public Library Just Uploaded Over 187,000 Free Images

From Gizmodo:

“All of the public domain works—that is, ones no longer restricted under copyright law—are now available for high resolution download from the NYPL. Adobe InDesign CS Defaults to LAB Color

Graphic Design

Since CS6, Adobe InDesign has defaulted to LAB color instead of CMYK when creating new swatches. This can create problems if you want to use a legacy workflow for a particular job, or if your customers are providing files based on the older model.

To make the older CMYK libraries available in InDesign, download them from this link: kevlaur.net/adobe/LegacyPantone.zip. Unzip the file and add them to /Applications/Adobe InDesign CC 2015/Presets/Swatch Libraries (MAC). They will appear at the bottom of the Color Mode listbox.
